Club Information
As you drive along Watsontown New Freedom Rd. towards Cross Keys Road, you'll notice a well-manicured sign, "Pine Valley Gun Club established 1937". The Sportsmen's club occupies 34 acres of shooting range and woods. A long blacktop drive brings you to the Pine Valley Gun Club House that faces the trapshooting range. (note; pine Valley Gun Club is not a hunting club but rather a sportsmen's club where members and guests practice clay target shooting, play cards and enjoy good fellowship. l The club had its beginning almost 75 years ago when Paul E. Holloway the owner of The Holloway Bus Co. on White Horse Pike & Gibbsboro Road, purchased a farm from the Borough of Pine Hill. He rebuilt the old log cabin and invited friends over to shoot clay targets. From that point, events solidified quickly and in 1936, the first meeting was held at Jack Boody's Heating business at the Crossroad of the Berlin-New Freedom Rd. Soon after The Pine Valley Gun Club was Incorporated Members of the Pine Valley Gun Club included the Almonesson Gun Club and South Jersey's marksmen were offered an invitation to join. Pine Valley G. C. took over the franchise of the Almonesson Club in the South Trapshooting League 1938 was the first year that the State Championships was held at the Pine Valley Gun Club. It was their first big event. And everything went like clockwork.
